I think that this article was very cool because the Echidna is one of the two mammals that lay eggs in the world and also because they have really sharp spines. Also when the mother has her babies they go in a little tunnel to hide in. Also is animal is really rare to see because there are not a lot of them today. Finally the best part was is that there has not been a birth for thirty years. That is a really long time without a baby to be born.

I thought that this article was very interesting because the Echidna can defend themselves by having a very sharp spine. Echidna are also very scarce animals and been around for millions of years. When Echidna are babies they call them puggies. Echidna are very similar to porcupines and hedgehogs. When Echidna are babies there moms burry them into a tunnel to keep there baby warm and safe.

I thought that this was a very important event for the zoo and also the world because the Echidna is one of the last egg hatching mammal in the world. People can now observe the Echidna from close up. The last Echidna born in the zoo was born in 1987 so this was especially amazing.

I think that it is important to celebrate the Echidna because it is one of the last monotreme to live on earth. I think it was amazing that it has been 30 years since an Echidna has been born.

I thought this was cool because Echidna is only one of the two egg laying mammals. Echidna also grow sharp spines so they protect themselves from danger. When they are born the Echidna creates a tunnel to keep them safe. The best part is there hasn't been a Echidna since 30 years ago.

I wonder if other zoos can create a new breeding for the African wild dog because one, I love dogs, and two, this animal is endangered, like the echidnas. It would be nice too if there was a breeding program for all endangered animals.

This relates to when wolves almost went extinct, but they didn't but we have to take care of our environment and maybe not so many animals would be going extinct. What if they bred other almost extinct creatures and release them into the wild? Wouldn't that be amazing? I wonder if other zoos could create a new breeding program for other rare animals because they could go extinct at any moment. This is important because these Echidnas can go extinct or bye-bye.

I got one what if the echidna wasn't a mammal how would that turn up they would still lay eggs but they wont have a spine also if you saw in the video the puggles always had bent backs because their spine was still growing so the animal would have not suport for the back think about that .That will be weird them crouched like old people how about every mammal had no spine even us!

This article was very interesting because it took so long long for 3 puggles to enter the world. A good breeding program would be for endangered animals that are extremely close to extinction. This is important because if it took so long to breed in captivity it must be hard to breed in the wild because of food and shelter.
