Click on the link below to read about a young middle school student who has built two different apps and is now at work on her third. After reading the article, share how her experience might be similar to what we have been practicing during our 5 lab stations. What are some things these stations might inspire you to design in the future?

The girl in TFK is very smart and wants to create stuff like an engineer. In science we are creating stuff that different engineers would make.

What is similar between the five stations and the article is that they both involve with science and that the stations we did are each different ways of science and what Anvitha did was technology which is part of science. In station 1 I liked doing the structures and I would like to build things when i¨m older maybe.

Very good Alex! Nice blog and I agree about the part that both involve science. I think it would be very cool if you would build stuff when you're older!

What i think is similar is that for both project is that you have to use your brain and think about the station your at. What is also similar is that we both used ideas from other people like she used ideas from her little sister and we used ideas from our classmates. And we both used technology to get the work done, she had to code and we had to answer questions based on what we were doing.

I really like your comment it really relates to what we are doing in the 5 stations. You have to use your brain and think about how your gonna do it. And sharing ideas is really good.

What I think is similar to the stations we are doing is that we all have to think it through on how we can solve these problems. Anvitha also had to think through on how she can make all of these cool apps.

Something similar that Anvitha and our class does is that we take suggestions from other people around us and we work together to figure things out. Anvitha did this when she asked her little sister for ideas. We also ask questions so that we can get better informed. Some things in our stations that might inspire me to design something in the future is the earthquake station. This station inspires me to want to think of a design that can meet the standards and protect people from an earthquake.

I agree because we asked questions to be able to understand, be on the same page, and get more informed! I like how you explained this perfectly fine Aubrey!

What is similar between the stations and "She's an app maker" is that she does coding and expirements with the app to see if it works, and in science you have to do expirements, and try and try again to see if something works the way you want it to or the way you expect it work. Anvitha had to think through and see if her work was even possible, like in science sometimes you get too excited and carried away that you forget you have to stay in reality and stay in the "Possible Zone." In station 2 you had to make a parachute and see if the block stays inside, I liked that a lot. That inspired me to build an air craft or a parachute that will have a lot of structure and will be sturdy enough to fly in the hard winds with people inside or on it.

The girl in TFK made two apps that she created, making apps or technology reminds me of engineering, and it reminds me of engineering is because when you make an app or any kind of technology you are engineering things. One day if I get to engineer I would make engineer electricity.

I can totally agree! This girl was doing some sort of engineering. It takes her time to build her apps, like she´s engineering them.

I think that in the article and the stations there was both engineering and science. I think this because in the article she was making games and building them and in the stations we were making stuff and building stuff. They were both science because in the stations we were experimenting if things would hold or not and in the article she was experiment that the games she was making were good games and eductional. Also that was the best article & most interesting I have ever read.

I think how it relates to the 5 labs we do in science is that we are learning how to learn about other types of engineering. Like she is making apps. Making apps are really hard and a way of engineering. Its really fun to do the 5 stations. I like learning about all the things that we do and sometimes make in the 5 lab.

This article reminds me of the five stations because when this girl makes her apps she has to use the same systems when we were engineers . This girl has to find ways to make the right parts and right technology to make the app.

I think the 5 stations we did and the girl who made apps both had to work hard, because sometimes we just want to give up and ask questions. Questions are important because it helps us discover new stuff by asking, what would happen if I did this? Even though we didn't get to do whatever we wanted, most engineers would follow simple rules create and improve stuff.

What I think is similar between the 5 lab stations and that girls experience is that the girl likes creating apps and we were creating/building structures like how she is creating apps and both those involve science.

I think that they were similar to what Anvitha did because she was trying to put her skiles to use. In the stations we were trying hard to come up with a solution to solve the station. This inspires me to find out how to make an app that will educate other people.

This is very close to what we learned about the stations. She is right that kids get tech at a young age and that is why many parnets want to get learning games or books on tech so that they can learn but on something they like. In class we did archture and so kids who like to build will enjoy that station better

I agree. Kids should get tech at a young age, so that kids can learn more things, that involve academics. I also very much agree that by doing the stations, we got to learn them better.

Us and her is that we had to sketch everything on a piece on paper and if we do it wrong we would think of it all over again and if that doesn't work we had to keep trying until we got it right i bet you that she had to do the same thing until she got it right!!!

I think why the engineering stations are similar to what Anvitha is doing is becuse the stations required a lot of effort and hard work. So without Anvitha´s hard work in her apps, they most likely wouldn´t be successful. So without our hard work on the stations, our stations would most likely not successful.

This article reminds me of the 5 stations because in the labs we did I I I I learned how to build things and learn how these kinds of scientists do their jobs. The aerospace station inspired me to maybe make a really big parachute in the future that I can drop down my staircase.
