It’s about making strange, mysterious, and complicated things become things we understand. There’s still lots more that we don’t understand about our world and the whole universe, but that’s where scientists come in. They are always asking questions and then finding the answers. So science isn’t really strange at all! It’s just curious people finding out about everything!
Science may seem like it’s a strange thing — complicated, even a mystery. But really, science is all about finding out about nature and how things work, the reasons behind every-day things. So it’s more about questions and answers than anything. How? Where? Why?

This article reminds me of Thomas Edison because he tried to find ways to make light but he would fail and he never gave up and asked for help and you should always ask for help and never give up on something.

I think that most of the scientist who try at something should never give up. Albert Einstein never gave up and neither should we. If we give up at everything all of our great ideas would be wasted. We all need to keep trying to do something big in the world.

This article reminds me of Thomas Edison because he created the light bulb and his saying was " I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work". Thomas Edison tried everything to make it work and he did by making the light bulb. This means to me that if something does work, you have to try another way to make it work. Even if you have to do it 10,000 times.

Adriana, You are so right. When you try and fail you need to just keep going. That's a really important thing to know because sometimes you do want to give up but you need to stay strong and keep going. Even if you have to do it 10,000 times.

Adriana, your post was so inspiring. You're right you should never give up just like Thomas Edison said " I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." Now if I have a big problem I can not solve, I will try and figure it out. Besides at least I don't have to do it 10,000 times. Your post also reminds me of Thomas H. Palmer who said the quote "At first if you don't succeed try try again."

The article reminds me of when Henry Ford built the first automobile know he faced so many problems and asked multiple people with him to solve them and got to where they are now. I know that I can be just like him and others too. When I have a question I need to solve it and with friends too.

Hi Lj/Lemuel, I think you did a very great blog on Henry Ford. You make me think of Alexander Graham Bell because he would also face many problems. Alexander tried to find a way to start communicating without letters and had faced a lot of problems during it. He said "The most successful men in the end are those whose success is the result of steady accretion." That quote really make me think of Henry Ford because I think they both took there time and came out successful.

This article reminds me about Apple in general. They all work as a team to finish things. I am sure if more people worked as a team the world would be a great place. If we all explained our ideas to the world and everyone put there heads together it would be a better place for all of us to live.

This reminds me when Benjamin Franklin did the lightning bolt experiment. He tried his best and he didn't know what was going to happen. Science is all about unexpected things. You never know what is going to happen when you add that ingredient or do that experiment.

Good job Ajla, science is all about unexpected things.Your theory is great and it reminds me about Albert Einstein and how he figured out the expression E=mc2 .One of his famous quotes were "To raise new questions, new possibilities, to regard old problems from a new angle, requires creative imagination and marks real advance in science.”Which goes with your theory.

Great job, Ajla. Science is all about unexpected occurrences. You never know what will happen. You also will never know what you will discover. It reminds me of Isaac Newton who just saw an apple drop and then found out about gravity and created Newton's 1st 2nd and 3rd law.

This article is makes me think of Isaac Newton because one day he saw a apple drop from a tree and wondered,Why the apple fell down? Why didn’t it just float? Then he started working on that project and never gave up. Soon he discovered how gravity worked and created Newtons 1-3 laws. When I have something challenging I never give up just like Isaac Newton.

Ruby, your comment is so inspiring to me because you are so right. When Issac saw the apple fall he wondered and wondered and he set out to find out why the apple didn't float. I want you to know that you are inspiring, too. You never give up and I want you to know how inspiring you are to me.

Ruby your comment makes me think of Henry Ford and how he tried to make a car work. He kept trying to figure out how he could make it work to revolutionise the world. Like Isaac Newton and his 1-3 laws. It is also like the Wright brothers trying to defy gravity. They were curious if they could fly so they made it happen.

This reminds me of Thomas Edison and the creation of the light bulb. He asked many questions to see how to make the light bulb. soon the questions lead to the solution. Thomas says I haven't failed, I've just found 10,000 ways they don't work." This goes with the article because science is all about asking questions.

This article reminds me about Benjamin Franklin because even major scientists take a few times to get things right. In the same way, I feel that I am like a scientist when I am asking people in my family about things and questioning what they say. In most situations, we can use science and even question things that are already discovered.

I like your post, Matthew. It reminds me of any scientist who was always asking questions and then finding out the answers to them. Anyone can be a scientist. You don't need a fancy lab or anything, you just need to ask questions and figure out the answers to those questions.

This article reminds me of Benjamin Franklin because when he was trying to invent the lightbulb he kept trying new things until he found out the best solution he could find. He never thought that one of his ideas were bad he just thought about how he can make them better. When he did all he said was I have not failed at all but found 10,000 ways that are not good and will not work. Benjamin Franklin always asked questions and was never scared so then at the end he invented something we use until this day, September 13,2016.That is why this article makes me think of Benjamin Franklin.

This reminds me of Benjamin Franklin because he had tried to make light, but it took him a few times to do it. Scientist also take time to make things and solve different problems. I have never asked myself a question and got the question right. I made strange, mysterious, and complicated things easier by asking a teacher for help and studying. You should always ask for help and never give up on what you are trying to solve or do.

Elma, you are certainly correct. It takes a lot of trial and error to find an answer to a science experiment. Edison was determined to find the answer to the experiment. He kept trying and trying until he got it.

This article reminds me of Benjamin Franklin because he was curious about lightning. So because of his curiosity he pursued his question about lightning. Even though he did not know what was going to happen to him he still did it. So he found out that lightning is electricity.

Ben T nice job on your post. I totally agree with you. This article make me think of Albert Einstein because he used a lot of theories and experiments. He said "A person who never made a mistake never tried" and that goes well with your blog. This article reminds me of Thomas Edison and how he tried over and over again to make the light bulb even though he failed many time. Every time he failed he tried harder to succeed and reach his goal and that is why he succeed, and this wasn't even for him to become rich he just wanted to help others. One of my favorite quotes from a basketball player that applies to this is "Don't be afraid of failure. This is the way to succeed." This is why the article reminds me about Thomas Edison.

Ansel this is an outstanding comment because your statement reminds me of when Charles Babbage created the first computer, we all know that he is a scientist and he had problems to face and mistakes by him, but that doesn't mean we can stop. We always need to believe and learn from our mistakes and we will succeed in life and achieve the goals.

Ansel, your response tell me that mistakes mean nothing but a help to getting a solution. By this I meant that your post said that Thomas Edison failed a lot but those mistakes helped him to not do that again and that later on made him not do it again and make the lightbulb.

This article reminds me of the Wright Brothers. It was not easy building the first airplane ever. They tried many many times and failed almost that same number of times. The plane just kept crashing. Since 90% of science is trial and error, they kept trying and then finally they found a way to make the airplane fly. This tells me that when I come to a dead end I should try a different solution and keep trying and I should never give up.

Hamzah, that is a really great analogy. You make me think of Steve Jobs and all the times he tried to get Apple Computers into everyone's home. Steve and his team got together and began to ask questions about how they could link the entire world together through communication. The team tried many things before they finally found the way to make communication happen. That would be inventing the iPhone.

This is a great article Hamzah, this reminds me of when Samuel Morse when he created the morse code and telegraph, but he didn't just get it right away he had help with others. He had to solve a lot of problems into creating the morse code and telegraph. So when I have problems I need to solve I need to never give up on my dreams and will still need to be able to achieve it.

Hamzah, your post was great because it showed me how the Wright Brothers never gave up on their huge project, and it led to to a goal being finished. This showed me that never giving up would lead to great feeling and hope of another goal to be done, and to never be sad or mad that you never completed the goal but to never stop trying.

Well I think science is a couple different things. The first thing is nature and life. I think that because all the different organisms and animals. The second thing is science is when you learn new and interesting things. For example, over all the years we learned all of these vocab words! The third thing is exploring. You can go out and find new things you didn't realize before. For example like why the sky blue. After you start to wonder you search for the answer. So that is what science means to me.

This article reminds me about Benjamin Franklin when he was curious about lightning. Even though he never knew what would happen to him, he took risk and hope that not giving up on this goal would be a great decision. After this, not giving up on his goal made him know lighting was a source of power. This is a great lesson because it tells you giving up wouldn't be the best way to completing a life goal.

This article reminds me of scientist that are all around the world who are constantly discovering and searching for new things every day. Everyday they ask each other questions and bounce ideas off each other to come to a conclusion. This motivates me to ask questions everyday and try my best to see if I can work well with others as a team to figure out the answer to our problem. Whenever there is an obstacle in my way I must figure out a way to knock that obstacle down. Every day you need to keep on trying. So if I ask questions and make mistakes than you never know, maybe one day I could become a scientist myself.

This article reminds me of Percy Spencer, the person who invented the microwave. He was working on a radar magnetron. Radar magnetrons create electromagnetic waves. When he tried to reach for his snack, a peanut cluster bar, he saw that it melted. Percy was baffled. He ran another test with an egg. He placed the egg under the magnetron tube and the egg exploded. Percy discovered something new.

With winds at the level 4 of 5 I can't imagine what it would be like to be in Hurricane Mathew. It continued to go along the coast of Florida all the way into Haiti. Most of the people were killed in Haiti and that really scares me. I have never been present when someone has died. I don't think I could be present when thousands of people die. That would be so painful for me.
